Fisher's book is probably the best one out there when it comes to analyzing the qualitative side of the business. The numbers are fairly straightforward; Fisher explains the non-mathematical side of investing. And of course, Buffett highly recommends it so it is definitely that good!

Great info! Its all to common that people watch the market and their stocks like water boiling on a stove (every couple minutes). Sometimes the mania of the masses of people who want to be rich NOW cloud the reality of investing. Sure, you can buy some tech stock and get all excited when it goes up every fifteen minutes but by the time the water boils it may have crashed!!! Remember that investing is like the tortoise and the hare. It is more exciting hopping all over the place, jumping in and out of stocks and getting caught up in all the garbage on TV (were up,were down, the dow turned again, lets see what happens ten seconds from now) but Warren Buffet is the KING TURTLE and he wins the race slow and steady$$$$ with BILLIONS of dollars!!! The media teaches speculation not investing, theres a lot of commissions to be made on fleecing people on fees and advice!! I am going to read this book as soon as I leave today after my cup of Joe,JOE ( punn intended).CASH IS STILL KING!!!!

I also own it but never read it. Although I read all the time, I purchase books faster than I can read them. I'm a little like Jerry in the movie Conspiracy Theory. Jerry couldn't go by a book store without buying a copy of "Catcher in the Rye." At least I buy a different book each time. That is when I don't forget I already own a copy, lol. I will definitely move this book to the top of my read list.

Excellent post as usual. I'm going to re-read Fisher's book, it's been a long while since I first read the thing. I think one important point that I would emphasize, is to know why you are buying a company. Some companies, you would indeed buy "forever" in the same sense that Buffet has bought Coca-Cola "forever", while most others would be in the three year rule category.
